1679-1709 A group of documents (4) signed by Sidney Godolphin including 1679 printed warrant to Sir Robert Howard as Auditor of the Receipt to pay Richard Twisdell, victualler of St. George's parish "for quartering several men from Capt. Francis Hawley's soldiers, in the late Duke of Monmouth's regiment"; 1680 order to pay Sir Leoline Jenkins £2,000; 1696 letter from the "Whitehall Treasury Chamber" "The Justices of the Peace of the County of Westmorland" on account of the neglected collection of " the duties ariseing by Marriages Births Burialls &c.", signed also by Sir Stephen Fox, John Smith and Thomas Littleton; 1709 warrant to take in loans to a total of £12,355 to pay interest at 6% already due, with itemised list of money due showing a total loan of £822,382; 1709 printed order for the repayment of loans with many additional instructions added.
