A group of related documents (3) including 1641 (24 Aug.) letter signed "James Chaloner" to his uncle Lord Ferdinando Fairfax regarding discussions of the House of Commons covering "the disbanding of our Armie ... as how far they may raise present monies for this purpose", and predicting that "the house are intended to make a recess for some time", with full address panel and wax seal, an interesting document; 1645 (Jan.) receipt signed William Constable (regicide) "Wm: Constable" for his allowances as a Member of Parliament with similar signed "James Fiennes" on reverse; 1652 receipt signed Sir Robert Pye (Parliamentarian) "R Pye" for one hundred pounds from Thomas Fauconberg.
