Great Britain: Exchequer bill, 1713, £100, #82933, handsigned 'Halifax', part of £1,200,000 raised, black on thick paper, cancelled. The charter of the Bank of England was extended in 1713 until 1742 and in exchange the Bank agreed to circulate this issue of bills. Charles Montague, Ist Earl of Halifax, 1661-1715, Auditor of the Exchequer. Slight damp damage at top left otherwise VF and a rare issue.
