George II (1727-1760), Half-Guinea, 1731, first younger laureate head left, rev. large crowned garnished shield, edge obliquely milled, 4.22g, 6h (Murdoch III, 58[a]; Douglas-Morris 36 this coin; King -; Schneider II, 597; MCE 339; Spink 3681A), some flecking by date and struck on a broad flan, otherwise lustrous with orange tone, near extremely fine, very rare thus and probably the finest to appear at public auction this millennium
