John Reid served as a Pilot Officer, having been commissioned from being a Leading Aircraftman (No. 1434818) and flew Tiger Moths, Oxfords, Hurricanes, Spitfires, Wellingtons and Stirlings; together with a group photograph including the recipient and General Smuts, several photographs of crashes, the Log Books with a number of images tipped and stuck in.
