During this operation the patrol covered over 100 miles of difficult jungle and country man-handling their LMGs and 3" mortars for long distances in torrential monsoon weather, and under heavy fire of enemy mortars and arty directed by O.P.s.
Naik Ram commanded his ambush post along the road in a most praiseworthy manner instilling confidence in the men by his coolness and personal disregard of danger.
