Sharon Cartwright - born McCuaig - enlisted in April 2004 and served with 1st Battalion, The Rifles during Operation Faction in Northern Ireland and with that unit and the Devon and Dorset Regiment in Iraq. Besides this she served 21 months at Permanent Joint Headquarters, Northwood. She was a member of the NATO Registry staff and assisted in the Despatch Office, representing Northwood HQ at netball and cross country. Upon leaving that posting she was assessed as having been outstanding and was recommended for promotion. A later posting at the Joint Service Mountain Training Centre, Anglesey followed and she was discharged on 12 December 2011. Sharon married Corporal D. R. M. Cartwright, The Rifles, late Devon & Dorset Regiment, whose Medals are also offered in this auction as Lot 629; sold together with named lid of issue for the Iraq Medal, original Certificate of Service, Exercise Northern Light certificate, numerous Staff Reports besides a number of photographs.
