Arthur George Frederick Jackson was born in 1901 at Colchester, the son of gas fitter Reginald Arthur Jackson and his wife, Agnes Maria Rose. He spent his childhood living with his parents at 67 Bourne Road and married a local girl, Doris Lilian Tooze, in 1926. Commissioned Lieutenant-Quartermaster in February 1943, he was promoted Captain Quartermaster in May 1947 and served with the 3rd Dragoon Guards from July 1948. He died on 21 March 1957 at the General Hospital, Walsall, leaving effects of £2497 18s. 10d. to his widow Doris, who was then living at 6 Leigh Road, Walsall, Staffordshire.
