D.C.M. London Gazette 1 January 1918. The citation published on 17 April 1918, states:
'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty as a runner during a long period. He has invariably displayed the greatest courage in action, and his energy and cheerfulness in the performance of his duties, however dangerous, have been exemplary.'
Arthur George Ludlow was born on 8 June 1891 at Hackney, London at was living at home and unemployed in 1911. He served in France with the Royal Fusiliers during the Great War, seeing service with the 7th Battalion from 23 July 1916-29 April 1917, the 4th Battalion from 24 July-12 August 1917 and again with the 4th Battalion from 13 August-11 November 1917. He died at Romford in December 1957; sold together with copied MIC and Medal Rolls which confirm this as full entitlement.
