1939-45 Star; Africa Star, clasp, 8th Army; Italy Star; France and Germany Star; War Medal 1939-45, with O.H.M.S. box of issue named to 'Mr F. G. Bastin, 248 Harrow Rd, Paddington, W.2.', with compliment slip confirming entitlement, the third sometime lacquered, very fine (5)

An unattributed handwritten note accompanying the group notes: 'He was a former Desert Rat who went to France & Germany, part of 30 Corps… The Artillery group he was in received a Battle Honour for firing across the river at German positions during the retreat from Arnhem - this was in the form of the pegasus worn on the right cuff.'

Sold with five photographs of a British heavy artillery gun in action, a Welcome Home & Re-Establishment Fund Fourth Reception (Paddington) booklet, and a Q (53rd London) 254 (City of London) Regiment R.A. Old Comrades' Association Remembrance Day Ceremony booklet, dated 8 November 1964.
