India General Service 1908-35, 1 clasp, North West Frontier 1935 (3310436 Pte. H. Taylor. H.L.I.); General Service 1918-62, 1 clasp, Palestine (3310436 Pte. H. Taylor. H.L.I.); 1939-45 Star; Africa Star; Defence and War Medals 1939-45, mounted as worn, edge bruising to first, very fine (6)

H. Taylor served with the 2nd Battalion, Highland Light Infantry in India. From 1934-38 his Battalion were stationed in the Peshawar district and were active in the Peshawar Brigade. In October 1938 they left Karachi for Palestine, being transferred to Cairo in November 1939. They went on to witness action at The Cauldron, Tobruk and during the Battle of El Alamein, following the retreating axis troops into Sicily and up the spine of Italy. It is possible that Taylor was wounded in North Africa due to the absence of an Italy Star; sold with copied roll entries confirming entitlement.
