Victory Medal 1914-19 (68095 Gnr. C. W. Sayer. R.A.), nearly very fine
Charles William Sayer was born around 1892 and attested for the Royal Regiment of Artillery at Camberwell on 6 January 1915. A boot salesman by occupation of 70 Carlton Grove, Peckham, he was sent to France on 2 August 1915 and posted to No. 125 Battery, Royal Field Artillery, on 6 November 1915. He survived the war and travelled to Purfleet on 10 April 1919 for demobilisation, before returning to his wife Ethel and five younger siblings in East London; sold with copied service record and research.
