British Post Office: 1897 (21 Jan.) part of newspaper addressed to Singer in Baden, Switzerland bearing ½c. rose tied by the 29mm double-ring "chinkiang/postal service" c.d.s. plus an inadvertently applied British Post Office Shanghai c.d.s. (22.1) which should have been applied to the Hong Kong stamp) with uncancelled Hong Kong 2c. carmine and with Shanghai Local Post (22.1) and Baden arrival c.d.s. (1.3). There are a couple of small bends, one affecting the Hong Kong stamps.


Very late use of the Local Post stamps. An item of great charm and appeal. Photo
