German Post Office: 1896 (26 Dec.) German 10pf. postal stationery card to Yokohama bearing 1c. rose-red just tied by the circular Nankin Local Post postmark in purple with a light strike of the bilingual oval datestamp (day and month inverted), the card has been cancelled by German Shanghai c.d.s. (29.12) with a part strike of Shanghai Local Post c.d.s. (29.12) in red, and a part strike of the arrival c.d.s., the reverse with Kobe transit (3.1). An unusual and scarce card which is addressed to the German Consulate in Yokohama. Photo
