Combination with Chungking Stamps
1895 (1 May) large Gunzburg envelope registered to Shanghai bearing Chungking third issue 2ca. (2) and 24ca. tied by Ichang boxed datestamp in purple with another strike alongside, block of four wide setting ½ca. cancelled by the circular "ichang/post office" cancellation in purple and there is a fine strike of the boxed registered handstamp numbered "25", the reverse with Hankow Local Post (14.5) and Shanghai Local Post (17.5) c.d.s. with the handstamp of the postmaster Joseph Olsen and complete red wax seal. There is a vertical folding crease, otherwise clean and fine.


A very scarce cover, there are thought to be only three such combination covers. Photo
