1899 (24 Feb.) envelope to the British Consulate in Shanghai bearing 5c. dull yellowish green and C.I.P. 2c. red tied by Chefoo Dollar daters, the date on the 5c. is 1st March, some five days after that on the Imperial Post stamp; with Shanghai Local Post c.d.s. (5.3) on the reverse. The 5c. stamp has been torn off and replaced with the envelope repaired and there is a vertical crease.

This cover missed the mail boat and was held for five days for the next boat to Shanghai. A very unusual and desirable cover. The local post stamp was cancelled on despatch from Chefoo. Photo

1899年2月24日威海䘙寄上海英國領事封， 貼二版跑差票 5分一枚， 淡黃綠色， 及蟠龍貳分票， 均銷煙台大圓日戳， 蓋在跑差票 5分票上的煙台大圓日戳， 其日期為3月1日， 較蟠龍票的郵戳遲了五天; 這是由於錯過船期須等下一班船往上海， 於3月1日再補蓋大圓日戳於跑差票 5分票上， 於封背蓋3月5日上海工部日; 5分跑差票曾被撕下及再補回， 信封亦有修補; 頗為不平凡的威海䘙混貼封. 源流: 1988年11月Ellery Denisson; 2014年Elling O. Eide.
