1894 (19 May) buff envelope registered to the Chief Officer on the S.S. 'Rosetta' c/o the P.& O. Agent in Shanghai, bears 1c. red and 5c. orange tied by a fine strike of the Local Post c.d.s. in black with the straight-line "registered" handstamp at left with manuscript "No.430" in red ink and, on the reverse, further despatch c.d.s., faint Shanghai Local Post (21.5) and some delivery characters in blue crayon. The cover was forwarded to Bombay and finally to S.S. 'Assam' in Aden and would have been carried privately on P.& O. ships. Offered with the original Local Post Office Memorandum enclosing stamps to the value of $1 and is signed by Amelia van Ess, the Local Postmistress. 1894年5月19日煙台寄上海掛號公務封, 貼煙台紅色一分與橙色五分票各一枚, 銷黑色煙台工部雙圈日戳, 左端蓋 "Registered" 及手寫紅墨"No.430", 封背蓋另一黑色煙台工部雙圈日戳, 及上海5月21日上海工部戳, 旁有些郵務員手寫藍色記號; 抵上海後, 馬上改寄印度孟買, 旋又再改寄也門的亞丁港; 本封本為公務封, 應是貼用公務郵票, 是煙台書信館為䂞郵者寄送郵票, 但後因故改寄他國, 變為國際郵件, 其實理應支補國際郵資又或被罰欠資的. 罕見及不平凡之煙台寄本國轉海外封, 保存見好.
