1895 (27 Mar.) opened-out envelope to U.S.A. bearing 1c. red tied by double-circle c.d.s. in black with pair of Hong Kong 5c. blue tied by British Post Office Shanghai c.d.s. (1.4) and fine Kobe (8.4) transit, the reverse with further despatch c.d.s., Shanghai Local Post (30.3), Yokohama (18.4), San Francisco (5.5.) and Falmouth arrival (13.5); there is some arrival notation at left and very light soiling. Interesting mail sent through Japan during the Sino-Japanese War. Signed by Peter Holcombe. Photo
