1864 (3 Nov.) entire letter to New York, marked "via Marseilles", bearing two 8a. carmine pairs (both crossed by vertical filing crease), each cancelled "B/172", showing red crayon "3/10", London Paid transit c.d.s. overstruck by circular-framed "10", "32/cents" accountancy h.s. in red and, on reverse, clear arrival c.d.s. (29.12). A fine example of the 32a. double rate for 1oz. letters via Marseilles. Photo
