Herbert George Wells
1942 (16 December), TLS from H.G. Wells to Mrs. Hubback addressing the matter of £50. An angered Wells writes "And where do you think I am going to find £50? With the call up of the technicians of Hollywood my last chance of considerable cheques from America vanishes, and I have not dared to look at my investment list since the war started ... I see you omit all my books from your proposals for leading discussion groups. Would you mind telling me why, at you convenience?". Signed "H.G. Wells". Photo
