Muilman of King Street, Covent Garden was an eminent Dutch merchant in the City of London. He became a member of the Royal Society of Arts in 1758. His son inherited his £1,800 of Bank of England three percent annuity stock {1726} upon his death in 1790. His memorial inscription is to be found in Debden Church, Essex. His nephew was the subject of a Thomas Gainsborough oil-canvas study c.1750.
