Great Britain: Metropolitan Bank (of England & Wales) Limited, £50 shares, circa 1900, #10158, scrollwork at left with constituent bank names and arms, black, cancelled by removal of bottom right corner. Formed as Birmingham Banking Company in 1829 and after a couple of acquisitions and name changes acquired this title. Taken over by Midland Bank in 1914. VF.
