British Post Office: 1895 (1 Aug.) cover front registered to London bearing pair of first issue 4c. yellow tied by "chinkiang/postal agency" c.d.s., pre-paid with Hong Kong Q.V. 5c. blue pair and 30c. yellow-green pair tied by British Post Office Shanghai c.d.s., there is a fine strike of the boxed Chinkiang "registered/no 360 handstamp in red, "R" in circle and part London arrival (1.9) plus blue crayon cross. The piece has been fractionally reduced and there is a piece of G.B. 1d. selvedge affixed at top; folding creases and some glue staining used to strengthen the paper (one of the 30c. is torn). A remarkable and important piece paying three times the local post rate and six times the international rate. Photo
