The Establishment of the Post Office
1894 (24 Aug,.) manuscript notice in black and red ink, headed "Chinkiang Postal Service", indicating the ports where mail is to be forwarded, without charge, by the Shanghai Local Post. Extra charges for Peking for the Courier Service between Tientsin and Peking and others which would used the Customs Courier Service in the winter months to have the additional postage paid in Customs stamps. Bears the oval handstamp of the Municipal Council, Chinkiang. A fine and unusual handwritten postal notice. Photo


1894年8月24日以紅色及黑色手寫公佈的郵政補充郵遞區域之規章, 內容為郵件經由上海書信館收取或遞送廈門, 煙台, 福州, 寧波, 羅星塔, 汕頭, 大沽, 天津, 溫州及牛莊, 在本埠不需額外付費, 但郵件如由天津寄往北京或冬季寄往大沽, 天津及牛莊, 則需預付海關的郵資; 信函的右下角蓋大英鎮江工部局橢圓形戳, 保存完好及罕見的手寫郵政公佈.
