1897 (31 Jan.) opened-out envelope to Shanghai bearing ½c. grey-lilac and ½c. yellow, each with overprint in red, cancelled by Wuhu China c.d.s. in blue-black, a further strike on the reverse along with Shanghai Local Post c.d.s. (1.2) and postman's pencil note. The inside of the envelope includes a note regarding the sale price of these stamps ($1 a set). Fine and one of the very few covers using these stamps. Photo


1897年1月31日蕪湖寄上海破剖封, 貼半分灰紫色及半分黃色各一枚, 均紅色加蓋P.P.C., 銷藍黑色蕪湖信局單圈英文日戳, 封背蓋另一相同蕪湖信局日戳, 及2月1日上海工部到達戳, 旁有郵差手寫記錄. 封內有記述加蓋P.P.C.票每套一圓等情況; 保存良好, 貼用P.P.C.票實寄封罕見.
