1800 (21 Sept.) entire letter to Liverpool, marked "P. the Penelope Packet", rated "1/8", showing good to fine "tortola/sep20 1800" datestamp (Proud Type PS5; earliest recorded date) with year date in full, part of the date written in ink as the postal official had apparently not corrected the day and month from a previous use. and red arrival c.d.s. on reverse; some light creases. Rare. Photo
