(x) Edward the Elder (899-924), Penny, 1.54g, Two Line type, Byrnelm, + eadweard rex, around small cross pattée in solid inner circle, rev. byrn eliiiio in two lines, two curves above the last three down strokes for 'mm', three pellets (instead of the usual crosses), in between, single pellets above and below, double line border on both sides (N.649 note - 'very rarely, three pellets'; S.1087), nearly extremely fine, toned, very rare variety
