1936 (30 June) stitched envelope registered to Soochow bearing, on the reverse, 1916-19 6c. grey (4) with 1924-36 2c. and 6c. red pair tied by Tihwa (Urumtsi) c.d.s.; the address side with boxed registered handstamp, Lanchow (28.7) and Wuhsen (Soochow) (31.7) c.d.s. with the grey-blue Par Avion etiquette. An attractive and unusual franking paying postage 5c., registration 8c. and air mail 25c. There are very few covers from Sinkiang using the Shanghai - Lanchow air route, which was closed in 1937 when the Japanese troops entered Shanghai. Photo
