1944 (9 Nov.) opened-out air mail cover registered to Changning in Hunan bearing, on the reverse, Central Trust 10c. and $1.50 tied by Hami dotted c.d.s. with English/Chinese c.d.s. in purple for censorship, with grey-blue Par Avion etiquette and fragment of the registration slip; the address side with manuscript registration number, bearing Lanchow and Chungking (11.12) transit c.d.s. and a very good strike of unframed handstamp indicated that the postal route had been closed due to occupation by Japanese troops and returned to sender; a little worn around edges.
