(7) tied by Peking c.d.s., with Tihwa transit (17.10) and Shufu (Kashgar) arrival (31,10); redirected to Calcutta, India with "amb. tarvisio venezia 190" transit (12.12) and Calcutta arrival (19.12); the address side with Peking red on white registration label and "A.R." handstamp. Wilhelm Filchner (1877 – 1957) was a German explorer. He travelled in the Pamir ranges, Tibet and the Antarctic. The Filchner-Ronne Ice Shelf in the Antarctic is named after him.
