1929 (24 May) a double registered cover to London "via Russia" bearing 1916-19 10c. (3) plus 10c. State Burial of Sun Yat Sen on the reverse, tied by Luntai Chinese c.d.s.; there is a fine array of backstamps with the boxed registered handstamp and the large "AR", c.d.s. of Kuerlei (27.5), Turfan (31.5), Tihwa (3.6) and London (4.7), plus Provincial censor seal type 5, redirected on arrival to Knightsbridge. A little soiled but a charming cover paying 10c plus 15c. each for registration and acknowledgement of receipt; full of character. Photo.
