4d balance of Admiral study of shades and printings, consisting of approximately 35 mint and 42 used examples, as well as several pairs and blocks, carefully written-up and mounted further to the RSC Handbook by Stephen Reah-Johnson, many plated or otherwise highlighting special attributes, noting a perf 14 Die I with the "Sloping Line" flaw from position 22, perf 15 Die I showing the "Waxed Moustache" variety, two mint examples of perf 14 Die II showing the "Intermediate BILCO" variety from position 41, as well as one showing the"Final BILCO", two perf 14 Plate 4 used showing the "Snowstorm in Cap" variety, one with superb Bulawayo c.d.s., yet another showing the "Cap Retouch" and "Thin Anchor" varieties of position 55, several examples showing printer's marks and other markings denoting plate position, many examples with better cancellations including scarcer Bulawayo and Salisbury strikes, Mongu-Lealui, Sinoia, Shagari, a few minor flaws but an overall fresh and fine collection, an important reference that took great effort to develop.
