1d. scarlet overprinted "Tristan da Cunha" and numbered "6", indistinct cancellation, a fine example of this unusual overprint that was prepared and applied in Great Britain after the Postmaster of Tristan, Rev. Harold Wilde, requested it. Only thirty-six of both the ½d. and 1d. values were prepared with each stamp individually numbered. Photo
