1948 pair of permits for the Municipality of Luderitz , the first a Lodger's Permit bearing monthly payments from January 1948 to November 1950, the first five months paid with 4/6d. manuscript surcharges on 3/- black on blue, the remaining months paid with 4/6d. on black and buff, the second card a Siteholder's permit bearing bearing payments from January 1948 to June 1950, franked with the same issues as above; November and December 1948 bearing Manuscript annotation "Paid to Mr Victor not stamped, surplus cash town centre". Filing punch holes affect one stamp on first card, still a rare and highly desirable pair, both remarkable in such a fine and complete state. Offered with original printer's quote for the issue, ordering 12,000 3/- and 20,000 1/- stamps on gummed paper, (this value not recorded) and showing sheet size of 100. Photo
