Imperial Airways (BOAC) & PAA Clipper Services to USA
1939 (25 Sept.) envelope from Klang to New York, franked at $1.90 and Censor cachet; 1939 (2 Oct.) envelope from Penang to Michigan, marked "Clipper", franked at $1.90 and showing Censor label at left; 1940 (26 Oct.) envelope from Penang to New Jersey, marked "via Transpacific Clipper to USA", franked at $1.90 and showing triangular "passed for transmission/penang"; and 1940 (22 Nov.) envelope from Raub (Pahang) to New York, franked at $1.90 and showing light triangular "passed for transmission/penang"

Note: The second cover went by Imperial Airways via Bangkok to Hong Kong to connect with the Clipper, the other two went to Rangoon, then CNAC to Chungking and Hong Kong to connect with the Clipper.

The last direct flight from Bangkok to Hong Kong ended on 13th October 1940. After 30th October, permission was obtained to use CNAC route from Hong Kong to Rangoon via Chungking, Kunming and Lashio.
