KLM terminated its Bandoeng - Amsterdam route at Naples, Italy. The airmail was forwarded to Amsterdam by train. Those destined to the UK or USA were then flown to Shoreham.
1939 (4 Sept.) envelope from Sungei Lembing (Pahang) to England, franked at 55c. (mixture of Pahang and Perak stamps); (7 Sept.) envelope from Singapore to New York, franked at 55c. and showing framed "passed by/3/censor" in violet; (9 Sept.) double rate envelope from Singapore to Manchester, franked at $1.40 and showing framed "passed by/7/censor" in violet; and (19 Nov.) envelope from Singapore to New York, franked at 70c., showing Censor label at left tied by framed "passed by/5/censor" in violet
