1857 (17 Jan.) underpaid envelope from Sandhurst to Locarno, bearing marginal "registered" 1/-, Woodblock 2/- pair (cut-into) and Queen on Throne 6d. pair (cut-into at right), all affixed slightly overlapping and cancelled by Barred Numeral "4", showing despatch d.s., "Crown/registered" h.s. and London Registered oval d.s., both in red, handstruck "d6" and, on reverse, Melbourne, Basel and arrival datestamps; the stamps have been lifted and replaced and the envelope slightly soiled, nevertheless rare and full of character. R.P.S. (1998) and RPSV (2008) Certificates, the former states "cannot be certified as all originating on cover" and the latter "stamps.....are original. Photo
