Sir Robert Peel, 2nd Baronet (1788 – 1850), a British statesman and member of the Conservative Party, served twice as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom (1834–1835 and 1841–1846) and twice as Home Secretary (1822–1827 and 1828–1830). He is regarded as one of the founders of the modern Conservative Party.
There was an erroneous report of the death of Lord Brougham in October 1839 and many long eulogies appeared in the national press. Although he had been involved in a carriage accident near his home in Penrith, Westmorland. It should also be noted that both his mother and daughter died in 1839
