1762-69, three Bills of Exchange relating to Mr James Gordon of the Jamaica Coffee House in London; the first is on a printed slip to James Gordon from James Manson in Rotterdam for £162.8.6 and is also signed "Accepted May 23rd Ja. Gordon"; the second is on a printed slip for 700 reas from James Gordon to Francis Arbouin in Lisbon, with slip giving the exchange rate of £196.2.11d. The third dated 1769 (28 April) from Madeira from Robert Bridges and Richard Dermis of Philadelphia for £89.5.0 on "account of Freight made by the Brigantine Cornelia ... from Philadelphia ..."; there is a footnote transferring the payment to Messrs Boldero Carter Barnston & Snaith (bankers in Lombard Street) and signed "Ja. Gordon" and various additional endorsements on the reverse. Clean and fine
