1602 (May) large part autograph letter (right margin missing) to Vincent Skinner from Robert Bowyer, secretary to Thomas Sackville, Earl of Dorset asking for confirmation of a warrant for £5000 duty, saying that the bearer of this letter will wait for a reply. Signed "Y vearie loving frend, Ro: Bowy(er)". The letter includes a reference of a visit by Sir Noell Carou to Sackville House. An interesting letter despite the missing fragment., Photo
Robert Boyer (c. 1569-1621) by 1599 Bowyer was acting as Buckhurst’s secretary, a position which he probably continued to fill until Buckhurst’s death in 1608.
Sir Vincent Skinner (1543 – 1616) was an English politician, who sat in Parliament for numerous constituencies. After 1593 he was appointed to the Exchequer as an auditor of the receipt.
