Persian Investment Corporation Ltd., £10 founders shares, 18[90], #7, bust of Naser al-Din Shah Qajar under title, ornate border and scrollwork, black printing on green paper. The company was formed by individuals with connections to the New Oriental Bank Corporation, the Anglo-Asiatic Syndicate and Mirza Malkam Khan Nazem, minister at the Persian Embassy. The company was sold a lottery concession by the Shah but this would have made the company liable to prosecution under English law. Pressure from the British Government forced the Shah to cancel the concession but the owner failed to tell the company and continued with his sale falsely accepting a fee of £40,000. GVF.
