Persian Bank Mining Rights Corporation Ltd., £5 Preferred Ordinary Shares, 18[90], #0819, signed by Frederick Sasoon as director, ornate border with vignette, brown, printed by Bradbury, Wilkinson & Co., together with notice of liquidation dated 1894, and two bankers receipts, 1892 and 1893. Formed by Baron George de Reuter (son of the founder of the Reuters News Agency), to work metal, coal & petroleum deposits. Drilling was unsuccessful and the company was in liquidation by 1899. Frederick D Sassoon, 1853 - 1917, son of David Sasoon and brother of Sir Albert (Abdullah). Director of Davids Sassoon and Sons and later Chairman on the death of his older brother. They dominated trade in the East from Baghdad to China and helped finance the Imperial Bank of Persia and the Hongkong & Shanghai Banking Corporation. About VF and rare [R10*].
