1889 (6 Sept.) envelope registered to Freetown, Sierra Leone, bearing 1860-69 first issue 24c. light green, 1879 2c. rose (2) and 6c. mauve and 1885-99 32c. blue, each cancelled with "bassa/ sierra leone" c.d.s., showing faint "Registered" handstamp in violet and Freetown arrival c.d.s. (30.9) on both front and reverse. Horizontal filing fold affects none of the stamps, a wonderful and extremely rare franking. S.G. 9, 14, 15, 29. Photo
