1882 (25 May) linen-backed envelope (with letter headed "Sandakan, May 21st 1882") ex the "Pollock" to London, bearing 1880 CC 10c. brown (corner fault) tied by oval of bars (Proud Type K3, twelve months earlier than recorded), showing very fine Labuan c.d.s. (Type D4, nearly two months earlier than recorded) in opposite corner with arrival datestamp (3.7) on reverse; the envelope a little ragged at top and with parts of flap missing caused through opening, and the face panel with some light staining at left. A very early and rare franking. Photo

Note: According to the letter this cover was carried by the "Julieta" to Labuan which left on the 22nd May.
