Note: Colonel Rowland Buckeley was one of the most prominent and wealthiest men of his time in Barbados. He was a member of the House of Assembly in 1679 representing the parish of St. George. Records show that he commanded a horse troop of local militia, whose function it was to protect the island from French invasion
