Bank of Mauritius, 2000 rupees, ND (1998), serial number BA 096823, red and purple on multicolour underprint, portrait Seewoosagur Ramgoolam at centre left, bank building façade in background at centre, arms low left, reverse, ox cart
(Pick48, TBB B419), in PMG holder number 65, EPQ, gem uncirculated. From the famous 1998 series which was very quickly withdrawn from circulation due to the incorrect order of languages on the front of the note which caused rioting in the streets. The notes were quickly recalled and replaced in the same year. The 2000 denomination being the key note to the series
