Chamberlain J. Gilbert arrived in France as a Private in the 1/1st Royal Wiltshire Yeomanry on 3 December 1915. Commissioned 2nd Lieutenant in the 8th (Isle of Wight, Princess Beatrice's) Battalion, Hampshire Regiment in November 1917, he subsequently served in the Egyptian Expeditionary Force in Palestine; sold with copied research.
