Joseph York arrived in France as a Private in the 1/1st Northumberland Yeomanry on 18 April 1915. The regiment was subsequently allocated to Divisional Cavalry duties and, in May 1916, to Corps Cavalry duties in XII Corps. York was discharged in April 1919; sold with copied medal roll entry.
