Pair: Lieutenant H. White, Royal Air Force, late Royal Flying Corps
British War and Victory Medals (Lieut. H. White, R.A.F.), very fine or better (2)
Harry White, who was born on 4 December 1898, was employed as a clerk in Nottingham Corporation's Treasurer's Department at the time of being appointed a Cadet in the Royal Flying Corps in August 1917. He subsequently qualified as a pilot in Sopwith Camels and, it would appear, served in No. 54 Squadron as a Flying Officer from March 1918. However, his service record notes that he was 'grounded' in September, when he was 'recommended for duty away from an aerodrome'; sold with copied service record.
