Yarmouth), the Great War period medals mounted as worn, these with occasional edge bruising and a little polished, nearly very fine, the remainder good very fine (8)

Albert Carter was born at Wimborne, Dorset in August 1893 and joined the Royal Navy as a Stoker 1st Class aboard the cruiser H.M.S. Bristol in May 1915. Having then served in the British Adriatic Fleet at the end of the same year, he transferred to the submarine branch with an appointment in the depot ship Pactolus in March 1916. He remained similarly employed until returning to normal fleet duties in March 1917, including time in the submarine K. 11. Carter ended the war in the battleship Agincourt and was awarded his L.S. & G.C. Medal in April 1928. Having then come ashore in the interim, he was mobilised in September 1939; sold with copied service record.
